[trains]
21st June 2011my dad has worked at the train museum forever.
so when i was growing up, my sister and i would spend countless weekends at ‘the trains’.
pretending to drive steam trains, playing hide and seek in run down carriages and rolling in the dirt a lot.
sometimes i’d work in the old shop. the cash register had big buttons and you had to do the sums in your head.
bubble o bills were 40c. *sigh*
we took jayde and dominic to see grandpa and his trains on saturday, and wow what a difference a $30 million grant from the government makes.
everything was shiny. and there were revolving doors, steps. and a roof.
jayde and dominic had a ball with grandpa and his new shiny trains.
but i’ll always love the old days of playing in the dirt with my sister x.
